THINKING RIGHT

The mind is diverse and controls everything we do in our life. Our mind is the engine that controls our behaviour. Some of our action is so automatic that we never even realize that we thought about it. The mind can focus on the worst or the best-case scenario.  That means, we only think in two ways (positively/negatively).

Our exposure determines which side we lean most. But because thinking can be tasking, we sometimes choose to make sense of the situation by catastrophising. When the mind focuses on the worst it is easy to feel defeated and wait for the disaster to happen. Feeling overwhelmed and desperate means there is nothing you can do about the situation. As a result, you sit and wait. The thought incapacitates you. The mind is an alarm system in our body. Therefore, when it does raise an alarm, it means something must be done. In some cases, the alarm can be faulty.

It is important to wonder why your brain is raising the alarm. Find out if the alarm is in order. Find ways to calm yourself down. This will allow you to move away from the threat prediction, if the mind is falsified. Threats from faulty cognition leads to more faulty scenarios and into further distortion. Planning gives the brain a path and some calm.

Give your mind a positive reality check by engaging your focus on the reality of the threat alarm. Update your mind with the reality check finding, and keep it engaged disputing the distortion. This will settle you down into engaging with the reality and disputing the distortion into reality. It sets you on course and allows your alarm to refresh, and reset.
